Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP would participate in the next parliamentary elections without any supportive government.

"No matter how much they created hues and cries for the supporting government ....they obviously would join the polls without it," he said while visiting Begumganj-Laksmipur Highway at Banglabazar in Begumganj upazila in Laksmipur.

Obaidul, also the Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, said, "BNP has no ability to wage any movement, as they have lost their popularity. If they have any capacity, they will stage demonstration in the capital with the participation of a good number of people."

A portion of Raipur-Laksmipur-Begumganj Highways damaged by heavy rainfall will be renovated within one month, the minister said, adding, "A project involving Taka 94 crore has already been taken to repair the roads."

AKM Shahjahan Kamal MP, Awami League Youth and Sports Secretary Harunur Rashid, District AL President Golam Faruk Pinku, General Secretary Advocate Nuruddin Chowdhury Noyon accompanied the minister during the visit.
