Bangladesh Television (BTV), which stepped into its 50th year yesterday, has had a long and enthralling journey. While on the one hand it has enriched the country's culture and entertainment, it has also been the pioneer of the dozens of satellite TV channels in the country today.
To mark the occasion, Channel i organised a reunion on the roof of their building yesterday, inviting veteran and current officials, employees and technicians. Managig Director of the channel Faridur Reza Sagar and director Mukit Mazumdar Babu gave welcome addresses in the morning, while Rabindra Sangeet artistes Sadi Muhammad and Papia Sarwar also sang at the programme.
The reunion was attended by Information and Cultural minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Channel i's Chief of News and Director Shykh Seraj, Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, M Hamid, KM Harun, Jamil Chowdhury, Ali Imam, Al Mansur, Afroza Banu, Manoj Sengupta, Kamrunnesa Hasan and others.
