Sida state secretary visits DMCH
Hanna Hellquist, state secretary of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), visited Reproductive Health Services Training and Education Program (RHSTEP) Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday afternoon.
She met DMCH Director Brigadier General Shahidul Haque Mallik and discussed about the services, challenges and quality issues of DMCH.
Apprising Hellquist of her queries, the director said RHSTEP is working with the government to provide special healthcare services in creating awareness on sexual and reproductive health and rights in the country.
Hellquist visited different parts of RHSTEP and showed keen interest on its different services and activities. She said RHSTEP is doing an excellent job in improving sexual and reproductive health and rights in DMCH.
She hoped to visit Bangladesh and RHSTEP in the future. Afterwards, she wrote comments in the guest book of RHSTEP, DMCH.
Hellquist was accompanied by Swedish Ambassador Anneli Lindahl Kenny, Counselor of Swedish Embassy Ylva Sörman Nath, Program Officer (Health) of Sida Mohammad Zahirul Islam and some of her Swedish colleagues.
