A whopping 19 Crore Taka budget for this year's Digital World Expo
Country's biggest Tech extravaganza 'Digital World' is knocking the door. Just two weeks before the event, the advisory committee of Digital World Expo 2015's budget was disclosed in a press conference. Headed by Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, the committee unveiled the entire expenditure. The total Digital World Expo will be costing approximately 19 crore out which government will be bearing 8 crore 22 Lacs. The event will be inaugurated by the PM and will include four expositions and thirty two seminars and workshops. At least thirty five officials from Google, Facebook and other renowned IT companies will be coming to Bangladesh to participate in these workshops and seminars. The four expositions will be: BASIS SoftExpo, Mobile Innovation/ Gaming Expo, E Governance and E Commerce Expo, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Expo. For the E Governance segment, all ministries of the Bangladesh government have been invited and as many as 1000 high ranked government officials and up to 1500 officials involved in policy and decision making are expected to be present at the event. Moreover, there will be an award ceremony where the ministry that is making the best use of technology will be given an award. The ministry that is performing most poorly in terms of technology use will also be given an 'Award of Shame!
