CU admission tests begin tomorrow

Admission tests for the first year honours courses under session 2007-2008 at Chittagong University (CU) will begin tomorrow.
The sale of the admission forms this year broke all the previous records. A total of 89,438 intended candidates collected forms against 2,846 seats under eight units, which means around 31 candidates would vie for a seat.
The number of sold out admission forms is 23,743 more than previous year's 65,695, sources said.
This year around 24 candidates would vie for a seat under 'Ka' unit, 20 under 'Kha' unit, 54 under 'Ga' unit, 28 under 'Gha' unit, 90 under 'Uma' unit, 32 under 'Cha' unit, 36 under 'Chha' unit and 27 under 'Ja' unit.
The seat plan for the tests are available on the university website www.cu.ac.bd/seatplan.htm, said a press release of the university.
Admission test for 'Gha' unit (social science faculty) will be held at 10:30am tomorrow, 'Ga' unit (commerce faculty-humanity and science groups) at 10:30am on January 7, 'Ga' unit (commerce faculty- business administration, diploma-in-commerce and diploma-in-business studies groups) at 10:30am on January 8, 'Uma' unit (law faculty) at 10.30am on January 9, 'Kha' unit (arts faculty) at 10:30am on January 10, 'Ka' unit (science faculty) at 10:30am on January 12, 'Cha' unit (forestry and environmental science) at 2:30pm on January 12, 'Ja' unit (biological science faculty) at 10:30am on January 13, 'Chha' unit (marine sciences and fisheries) at 2:30pm on January 13, 'Kha' unit (Fine Arts, Arabic and Persian, Islamic Studies, Oriental Language Pali, and Sanskrit) at 10:30am on January 14.
