Mother, daughter stabbed dead in Ctg
Unknown miscreants stabbed dead a woman and her 18-year-old daughter at their house at Agrabad in Chittagong city this morning.
Doctors declared Rezia Khatun, 47, and her daughter Saima Naznin Nishat “brought dead” when they were taken to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital around 10:35am, said Tanvir Arafat, assistant deputy commissioner (ADC) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (west zone).
Nishat appeared for this year’s SSC examination from Agrabad CBA Girls High School in the port city, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
Rezia and Nishat were at home after Rezia's hunsband Rezaul Karim, a C&F agent, left the house with their two sons for their workplaces in the morning.
A friend of Nishat found the two lying in a pool of blood when she went to their house around 10:30am.
Nishat was scheduled to go to the school with the friend to attend the SSC practical examination today, family sources said.
Talking to The Daily Star, Nishat’s brother Saif Reza said one Raihan, a BBA student of University of Science and Technology, Chittagong (USTC), proposed Nishat few days back.
"After some days, he came to our house to convince my sister. This made me angry and I rebuked him," Saif said.
Raihan might kill the duo to take revenge, Saif said.
