BD women lose series
The visiting Indian women's team won the three-match T20 series with a match to spare after beating Bangladesh women's team by eight wickets at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar yesterday.
Choosing to bat first, Bangladesh scored 65 runs for nine in 20 overs with Farzana Haque scoring 18 off 36. Jhulan Goswami took two wickets for 15 while Poonam Yadav grabbed two for 9 and Shikha Pandey took one for seven.
India easily reached the target of 66 in 12.3 overs for the loss of two wickets. Opener Madhuri Mehta scored 23 off 30 balls with three fours before she was caught by Ayesha Rahman off a Rumana Ahmed delivery. Goswami scored an unbeaten 31-ball 18 with four fours to bag the player-of-the-match award.
