Maya Corporation appoints new regional corporate general manager

Kelly Lewis, a global experienced hospitality professional, joined as regional corporate general manager of Maya Corporation in the very beginning of this year. Maya corporation is a Bangladesh-based organisation involved in hotels and restaurants, real estate, radio station and RMG business. As a RCGM, he is overseeing international chain hotels Best Western PLUS under the name of Maya, and a new resort planning, as well as one international chain restaurants Farzi Café & Chai Garam Café.

Starting his long and successful career in food and beverage with Hyatt Corporation in Maui and onto General Manager, Lewis's career spans over 25 years in a number of luxury brand hospitality companies, including most recently the Amari Dhaka hotel, where he operated this most successful hotel for just under 5 years. Prior to Amari, he has held General Manager positions with Hyatt Hotels, Dusit International Hotels Thailand, the prestigious Indigo Pearl Phuket (rebranded the Slate), Makena Beach and Golf Resort Maui, Hotel Victor Hyatt South Beach Miami USA, Grove Isle Resort and Spa Miami USA, Daufuskie Resort and Breathe Spa, as well as The Carefree Resort and Villas in Carefree Arizona. He has also held positions with Shangri-La and the famous Half Moon Bay Golf and Tennis Resort in Jamaica.

Born in the UK and raised in America, Lewis graduated from the University of Arizona. He is a well-seasoned hotelier with many accolades, including World Luxury winner of best Suites and Villas worldwide, Best Resort Spa in Asia and Best Beach Resort in Thailand for two years at Indigo Pearl Resort. He also received Best Luxury Contemporary Hotel at Amari Dhaka in 2015. Lewis was also named Manager of the year 2019 by CMO Global for his work at Amari Dhaka under Onyx Hospitality Group.

His understanding of hygiene and sanitisation will be of great advantage during this period of Covid-19, as he drives the Best Western "We Care Clean program." He is also a member of the Thailand Chapter of the Chaine des Rotisseurs. With his long illustrious career in the hospitality industry and extensive knowledge and experience of luxury brands, Lewis is the ideal candidate to lead the Hospitality division's growth of the fast pasted Maya Corporation.
