‘No Dorai’ to compete in 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards
No Dorai (Dare to Surf) is set to compete under the fiction films category, in the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
The final nomination list will be published in October and films from 70 countries around the world will participate in the competition. The award-giving ceremony will be held in Brisbane, Australia, on November 26.
No Dorai is STAR Cineplex's first venture into film production. The film, set in the picturesque Cox's Bazar, tells the story of a female surfer who struggles to maintain social expectations and pursue her dream. It was released on November 29 last year. Directed by Taneem Rahman Angshu, No Dorai features Sunerah Binte Kamal and Sariful Razz in central roles.
"We are glad to be nominated in the competition and we want to share the joy with our beloved audience," shares Mahboob Rahman, Chairman of STAR Cineplex and the producer of the film. "We faced a lot of challenges while making this film and the public accepted it with much love and appreciation."
