Brac Bank's profit goes up 4.28pc
Brac Bank's profit grew 4.28 percent year-on-year in the first nine months of the year.
Net profit stood at Tk 391.6 crore at the end of September, compared to Tk 375.5 crore in the same nine-month period last year. The earnings disclosure came at a programme at the lender's head office in Dhaka yesterday.
Selim RF Hussain, managing director of the bank, presented the financial results, according to a statement of the bank. “The bank enhanced its overall capacity in the last nine months by implementing a number of technology-related projects which helped the bank continue the growth momentum,” he said.
Earnings per share improved to Tk 3.65 in January-September, from Tk 3.51 during the corresponding period a year ago. Net asset value per share rose to Tk 30.26 in September, against Tk 23.70 in the same month in 2017, according to the bank.
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange yesterday, Brac Bank's shares were down 1.14 percent to Tk 69.60, far lower than the recent peak of Tk 85.
