BNP to distribute leaflets tomorrow

The BNP will distribute leaflets tomorrow among people across the country demanding unconditional release of party Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

“We will distribute leaflets with BNP's statements on March 1 [tomorrow] across the country,” Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the party, told journalists at a press briefing at the party's Nayapaltan headquarters.

BNP has been observing various protest programmes, except for hartal and blockade, since Khaleda landed in jail in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8.

The party had observed a token hunger strike and organised a sit-in programme in the capital, and formed human chains, protest rallies and submitted memorandums to DC offices across the country.

In the press briefing, Rizvi alleged that the government is hatching a conspiracy to stay in the power, and Khaleda Zia was sent to jail as part of that conspiracy.
