ICT wants charges, if any, on Dec 7
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 yesterday directed the prosecution to press charges, if have any, on December 7 in a case filed in connection with the abduction and killing of philanthropist Ranada Prasad Shaha (RP Shaha), and his son during the Liberation War in 1971.
Yesterday was fixed for submitting investigation report in the case. But, Prosecutor Rana Dasgupta said they have already received the probe report and other documents and need two months to press charges.
The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam gave one month time and fixed the date. Meanwhile, the tribunal yesterday directed the prosecution to submit investigation report, if have any, on December 4 in a case filed against three Nogaon men for allegedly committing crimes during the Liberation War.
Yesterday was fixed for submitting the report but Prosecutor Abul Kalam sought one month time and the tribunal allowed his prayer.
Of the accused -- Rezaul Karim Mantu and Shahid Mandol – who are originally from Badalgachi upazila of Naogaon, are now in jail while another accused Nazrul Islam is yet to be arrested.
