Top BNP leaders meet US embassy officials

Some top BNP leaders yesterday had separate meetings with senior officials at the US embassy in Dhaka when they had intense discussion about the ongoing political situation and upcoming general elections.
Reliable sources said Acting Secretary General of BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir last night had a lengthy meeting with Pushpinder Dhillon, counselor for political and economic affairs at the US embassy.
Prior to meet Pushpinder, Mirza Fakhrul had meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan residence in the capital when he took the opposition leader's message and conveyed it to the US official. But details of the meetings could not be known.
Other senior BNP leaders, including Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and Osman Faruk, also had separate meetings with another senior US embassy official last evening.
