JCD president Jewel gets bail
The High Court yesterday granted anticipatory bail to pro-BNP Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Abdul Qader Bhuiyan Jewel for two months in a criminal case.
On December 4, Sher-e Bangla Nagar police filed the case against Jewel and some others on charges of attacking the law enforcers, preventing them from discharging duties and vandalising cars at Panthapath area in the capital during hartal enforced by Jamaat-e-Islami on that day.
The HC bench of Justice Quamrul Islam Siddiqui and Justice AKM Zahirul Hoque granted the bail after the JCD leader filed a petition in the case. Jewel appeared before the HC bench for the bail yesterday.
