Hajj flight from Ctg airport begins Jan 24
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry 2,740 Hajj pilgrims from Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport (CSAIA) to Saudi Arabia from January 24. This is the second time that the Hajj pilgrims will be carried from the CSAIA to the Kingdom directly. Last year Biman carried 822 Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in three direct flights from Chittagong, Biman sources said yesterday.
The Biman expected that around 2,740 Hajj pilgrims would reach Jeddah Airport from the CSAIA in 19 direct flights from January 24 to February 4 except January 25 and 26.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin earlier said the Biman decided to operate a total of 99 flights to carry Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims this year including 10 flights from the port city.
Mir Nasir is expected to inaugurate the direct Hajj flight, it is learnt.
