Christian Aid holds dialogue on gender equality
Christian Aid Bangladesh in partnership with BLAST, Bandhu Social Welfare Society, Nagorik Uddyog, and Wave Foundation, co-funded by the European Union, has organised a dialogue recently, marking International Women's Day 2023, said a press release.
The dialogue "Innovation & technology for gender equality and minority rights in Bangladesh" was themed DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.
Representatives from dalit, hijra, ethnic minority, and an advocacy network member communities shared their thoughts during the event celebrated at Chhaynaut Shanskriti-Bhavan, Dhaka.
Gloria Jharna Sarker, a lawmaker; Faruque Hassan, BGMEA president; Laila Jasmine Banu, programme manager, Governance and Human Rights, Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh; Shehela Pervin, PPM, additional deputy inspector general of police; Sara Hossain, senior lawyer, Supreme Court, and honourary executive director, Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST); Saleh Ahmed, executive director, Bandhu Social Welfare Society; and Zakir Hossain, chief executive, Nagorik Uddyog, were present on the occasion. Christian Aid country director Pankaj Kumar delivered the welcome speech.
