Chhatra Federation demands justice for Rezaul
The leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation held a protest rally today at the Dhaka University campus demanding justice for Rezaul Karim, a madrasa student who was killed during a factional clash of Awami League on Friday.
Moreover, the leaders condemned the attack on Nurul Haque Nur, former vice president of Dhaka University Central Students Union (Ducsu) by Chhatra League. The attack took place yesterday at TSC when Chhatra Odhikar Parishad was preparing to take out a protest rally.
Speakers said Awami League and their student wing leaders carry out many attacks on opposition party leaders when they demonstrate. They demanded a non-partisan caretaker government to hold the election.
Describing unethical activities of the Chhatra League on the campus, Moshiur Rahman Richard, president of the left organisation said, "The dormitories of the university are occupied by Chhatra League and they force students to join their party's rallies. If someone refuses, the students are interrogated by the leaders and sometimes beaten."
Chhatra Federation brought out a procession from TSC towards Shahbagh.
