Sylhet Airport: Flights disrupted as Biman plane tyre bursts

The flight operations at Osmani International Airport remained suspended for about four hours as the tyre of an aircraft burst before takeoff yesterday.
The incident, involving flight 602 from Sylhet to Dhaka, took place around 1:15pm, said Tahera Khandaker, general manager (public relations) of Biman.
All the 148 passengers of the flight were flown to Dhaka by another flight at 4:30pm, she added.
An engineering team of Biman went to Sylhet and changed the tyre of the plane, Tahera further said, adding that the aircraft returned to Dhaka at 5:30pm after repair.
According to the airport sources, a flight from Manchester could not return due to the closure of the runway.
