Dhaka back to bedlam
Dhaka experienced severe traffic congestion during the morning and evening rush yesterday as offices in the capital reopened after a day's holiday, causing acute sufferings for commuters.

The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police reported that the ongoing construction work for the extension of the metro rail in Shapla Chattar area has resulted in one side of the road being closed for vehicular movement, resulting in traffic congestion in Motijheel area.
The start of SSC examination exacerbated it, added Mohammad Mainul Hasan, deputy police commissioner of DMP's Traffic Division in Motijheel.
He said traffic congestion reduced around noon.
Md Tipu Chowdhury, an employee of a private firm, experienced delays during his journey from Gandaria to Tikatuli due to heavy traffic.
