Bangladesh Embassy accords reception to diplomates in Lebanon
On the occasion of the Independence Day and National Day of Bangladesh, Embassy of Bangladesh has accorded a reception and hosted dinner in honour of foreign diplomats in Lebanon.
The event took place on Saturday (March 26) evening at the ballroom of the Lancaster Eden Bay hotel in the capital Beirut. Amin Salam, minister of Finance and Commerce of Lebanon, joined the event as the chief guest.
Amin Salam expressed his greetings on behalf of the President, Prime Minister, and Speaker of Bangladesh on the occasion of the country's Independence Day and expressed hope that the relations between the two countries' will be strengthened further.
The minister also said Bangladesh has made a significant progress in the medical, energy, and agricultural sectors. Lebanon, however, is on the lookout for new markets. In that case, Bangladesh could be a good option. And as a result, there is an opportunity to strengthen bilateral trade relations.
Bangladesh's Ambassador to Lebanon, Major General Md Jahangir Al Mustahidur Rahman, in his welcome address, said, "Bangladesh and Lebanon are two fraternal countries with excellent bilateral relations. We are grateful for the Lebanese government and its people's support during our liberation war."
Yassine Jaber, member of parliament of Lebanon and President of Bangladesh-Lebanon Friendship Parliamentary Group; Sami Fatfat, member of parliament; Abir Ali, head of protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants; and Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud were among the special guests.
