Kuet teacher's body buried again after autopsy

The body of Prof Md Selim Hossain of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) has been buried again at Bashgram graveyard in Kushtia's Kumarkhali upazila, following an autopsy at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The burial was completed around 8:00 pm yesterday, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting Prabir Kumar Bishwas, officer-in-charge of Khulna's Khanjahan Ali Police Station.
A team of police from Kushtia's Kumarkhali Police Station was present during the burial.
The body was first taken to Kushtia General Hospital after being exhumed on Wednesday. From there it was sent to DMCH.
"The Prof Selim's body was handed over to his father Shukur Ali and his two cousins Shamim and Sohail after the autopsy," the OC added.
Selim Hossain (38), provost of Lalon Shah Hall of Kuet, was found dead at his residence on November 30. His was buried at Banshgram village in Kushtia without an autopsy.
General students and teachers alleged that BCL activists tortured him mentally over the selection of the dining manager for December of the Lalon Shah Hall.
Selim's wife Sabina Khatun has said she feels insecure. She wanted the university authorities to file a case and she informed the authorities through the teachers' association.
Professor Selim's father Shukur Ali demanded a proper investigation, saying that his son might have been murdered.
According to university sources, Registrar In-Charge Anisur Rahman on December 5 sent a letter to the district police on behalf of the university -- requesting a thorough investigation.
Later, Inspector (investigation) of Khulna's Khanjahan Ali Police Station Shahriar Hasan applied to the Khulna District Magistrate to exhume Selim's body.
After processing the matter, a court-ordered to exhume the body.
