Indian national held in Lalmonirhat for illegally entering Bangladesh
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have detained an Indian national in Lalmonirhat for entering Bangladesh illegally.
The detainee was identified as Rahim Mia (28), son of Sukhlal Mia of Gizaldah village in Cooch Behar district of India's West Bengal, reports our local correspondent.
Zahurul Islam, a BGB official of BOP camp of Hatibandha upazila under Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion, said that Rahim illegally entered Bangladesh by climbing the barbed wire fence near the border's main pillar no 909. During preliminary interrogation, he admitted to illegally entering Bangladesh to trade cattle. He was later handed over to Hatibandha police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatibandha Police Station, Ershadul Islam, said that a case has been filed against the detained Indian national for illegal entry.
