DB arrests 6 over auto-rickshaw driver's murder in Dakkhin Khan
The Detective Branch has arrested six members of a gang in connection with the murder of a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver in Dhaka's Dakkhin Khan.
The arrestees were identified as Md Khaled Khan Shubo, Md Tipu, Md Hasanul Islam alias Hasan, Md Jahangir Hossain, Abdul Majid, and Md Sumon.
On Friday and early Saturday, the Airport Zonal team of DB (Uttara division) carried out simultaneous drives in Dhaka city and Rajanagar thana areas of Moulvibazar district and arrested six people.DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Detective) Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid revealed the information at a press briefing at DMP's media centre at 11:45am today.
The detectives also recovered a Swiss knife, the auto-rickshaw used by the victim, and a mobile phone during the drive.
On December 7, last year, victim Md Mustafa came out from his Dakkhin Khan residence at night to drive his battery-powered auto-rickshaw. As he did not return at night, his mother registered a general diary with Dakkhin Khan Police Station.
Later on December 17, the victim's mother came to know through a local that an unidentified body was found on a vacant plot of Ashiyan City in the area under Dakkhin Khan thana.
The victim's parents immediately went to the spot and identified their son.
Later, the victim's mother filed a murder case with the Dakkhin Khan Police Station.
