BSF hands over 5 Bangladeshis to BGB in Kurigram
India's Border Security Force (BSF) handed over five Bangladeshis, detained while entering Bangladesh illegally, to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) last night.
The five Bangladeshis, including women and children, were handed over by Inspector Vivek Mila of Dhaprahat BSF camp, under 192 BSF Battalion in Cooch Behar district of India's West Bengal, to the BGB through a flag meeting held at Kashipur border in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent quoting BGB.
BGB 15 Battalion Kashipur Camp Company Commander, Subedar Ramzan Ali, said, "We handed over the Bangladeshis to Phulbari Police Station last night. Three of them have been charged under the Illegal Entry and Passport Act."
Phulbari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Rajib Kumar Roy, said that two of the five Bangladeshis have been handed over to their families, and others have been arrested in a case filed by the BGB.
Earlier on August 1, five Bangladeshis were caught near international main pillar number 942 by BGB while trying to enter Bangladesh illegally from India.
