4 motorcycle thieves arrested in Faridpur

Four members of an inter-district gang of motorcycle thieves have been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Faridpur district police.
Two stolen motorcycles were recovered during an operation around 11:45pm yesterday, said a press release issued by Faridpur DB today.
The arrestees are Abdullah Sheikh, 26, Md Sumon Molla, 24, Md Wahidur Rahman, 39, and his brother Md Naimur Rahman, 26. They are residents of Baikhir village under Chatul Union in Faridpur's Boalmari.
According to the press release, tipped off, a DB team, led by Md Rakibul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Faridpur DB Police, conducted a drive in Boulmari Chourasta area.
The DB team recovered two stolen motorcycles from the processions of Abdullah and Sumon.
Based on the information of the arrestees, the team later arrested two others from Baikhir area.
The accused had been stealing motorcycles from different locations and selling them at significantly lower prices.
Sub-Inspector Md Emanur Hossain of the DB Police has filed a case with Boalmari Police Station in this regard, said Abdul Wahab, officer-in-charge of Boalmari Police Station.
DB OC Rakibul said the four arrestees were produced before the district court this afternoon with seven-day remand prayer for each.
