4 Jubo League men attacked in Tangail
Unidentified criminals stabbed a local Jubo League leader and three activists in Tangail's Bhuapur upazila last night.
The attack took place in Ibrahim Khan Government College area around 9:00pm.
The injured are Aktaruzzaman Salim, Bhuapur upazila Jubo League general secretary, and activists -- Ratan Talukder, Kanan and Bijoy.
Family and party sources said that a group of miscreants attacked them when they were returning after participating in a road construction opening programme.
The locals and other party men took the injured to the Bhuapur Upazila Health Complex, our local correspondent reports.
Seriously injured Salim, however, was taken to Tangail General Hospital and later referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Contacted, Faridul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhuapur Police Station, told The Daily Star that it is not yet clear who attacked them. However, the process of filing a case is underway.
"Necessary steps will be taken after investigation," he added.
