4 Hindu temples attacked in Kurigram
Criminals attacked four Hindu temples and vandalised eight idols in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram early today.
The incident took place at the Gorokamandal Raypara village of Naodanga union in the upazila, said Fazlur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Phulbari Police Station.
The unidentified criminals attacked Haridev temple, Manosa temple, Mahadev temple and Radhakrishna temple, said the OC.
Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad leaders, Border Guard Bangladesh BGB members, Kurigram Additional Superintendent of Police Sajjad Hossain and Phulbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Suman Das visited the spot, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.
Anil Chandra Roy, general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad's Phulbari upazila unit, said the attack was carried out at the temples to spread fear among the Hindu community.
Phulbari UNO Suman Das said the attackers will be identified and arrested.
