2 constables in the Netherlands to be terminated from force: CMP
The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has decided to terminate the two police constables, who allegedly escaped during a 15-day official training in the Netherlands.
A one-member probe committee headed by CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (headquarters) Shariful Islam was formed yesterday (May 31, 2022) to investigate the incident, CMP DC Amir Jafar told our Chattogram staff correspondent.
"The committee was asked to submit its report within five working days," added the DC.
"Processing to terminate them from the police force is now underway," he said.
The two constables Rasel Chandra Dey and Shah Alam went to the Netherlands with six other police personnel to attend a 15-day long official training and later went "missing" on May 22, 2022, the day before they were supposed to take a flight back to Bangladesh.
After the incident, Rasel called his family members in Cox's Bazar and his Dubai expatriate brother and said he would not return to Bangladesh.
