12-year-old girl abducted from Savar, rescued in Pabna
Police rescued a 12-year-old girl from Ishwardi of Pabna yesterday evening, a day after she was allegedly abducted from Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
The law enforcers also arrested Sajib (24), a neighbour of the victim, for his alleged involvement with the abduction, our Savar correspondent reports, quoting Jahidul Islam, sub-inspector of Savar Model Police Station.
Sajib, hailing from Gachedia village under Daulatpur of Kushtia, lives in a rented house in Savar's Rajfulbaria area, said the police official today.
Police rescued the victim from Ishwardi yesterday evening and arrested the alleged kidnapper after the victim's mother filed a general dairy (GD) with Savar Model police Station on Thursday (April 21), he said.
Quoting the GD, SI Jahidul Islam said Sajib picked up the girl from her residence in Rajfulbaria area around 10am on Thursday and took her to his uncle's house in Ishwardi.
The arrestee was produced before a Dhaka court this morning, the police official added.
