Pharmacy owner dies in Satkhira road accident
A pharmacy owner died after a truck rammed into his motorcycle in Satkhira's Sadar upazila this afternoon.
The deceased Md Sanaullah, son of Abul Hossain of the upazila's Jordia Sheikh para, was the owner of Sima Pharmacy in Bankdah Bazar area, reports a correspondent from Satkhira.
Talking to reporters, victim's cousin Makfur Rahman, said Sanaullah was returning home on a motorcycle around 12:30pm to offer Jumma prayers after closing his pharmacy.
When he reached Jordia intersection on the Bankdah-Budhhata road, a sand-laden truck hit his bike.
Locals took him to a private hospital in Satkhira town. He died around 3:30pm while undergoing treatment, added Makfur.
Mamun, a physician at the hospital, said the victim suffered serious head injuries.
Confirming the incident, Abu Jihad Fakhrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, said the body was sent to Satkhira district Hospital morgue for autopsy.
