Another injured dies
A victim of the October 7 bomb explosion at a Chittagong madrasa succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital Sunday afternoon.
Nurun Nabi was among the seven who were wounded in the blast at Al Jamiatul Ulum Al Islamia Madrasa in Lal Khan Bazar area on Monday.
He was admitted to the Burn Unit of DMCH with 90 percent of his body burnt. He died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) around 5:25pm, Dr Mahbubur Rahman told The Daily Star.
Nabi, a diploma engineer, was also a charge-sheeted accused in a case filed for the killing of two people in a gunfight that took place in Chittagong after the war crimes verdict against Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee, police said.
He landed in jail on March 31 and got bail on May 22.
A cadre of Islami Chhatra Shibir, Nabi was taken to Dhaka for treatment after the explosion in the madrasa, according to police.
On Tuesday, talking to the media, CMP Commissioner Shafiqur Rahman told The Daily Star that Nabi might have been taken to the madrasa for making bombs.
Earlier, Jubair Ahmed and Habibur Rahman, two students of the madrasa, had succumbed to their injuries at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
