Workers block highway to protest outage in Narsingdi

Traffic movement on Dhaka-Sylhet highway was disrupted for about two and half hours as jute and textile mill workers put up blockade on the highway yesterday morning protesting frequent power cut in factories.
Sources said hundreds of workers took to the street at about 8:00am and put up blockade on the road protesting frequent power outage that disrupted production in their factories.
The agitating workers withdrew blockade at about 10:30am after Deputy Commissioner Jillar Rahman assured them of taking necessary steps in this regard.
