Writer Mahmudul Haque passes away

Renowned writer Mahmudul Haque passed away in the city at the age of 68, says a press release.
Different organisation and individuals, including Bangla Academy and National Poetry Council expressed deep shock at his death.
Cultural Affairs Adviser Rasheda K Chowdhury expressed deep sorrow at his death. She conveyed sympathy to members of the bereaved family and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
Some of his books are Jeebon Amar Bon, Matir Jahaj, Khelaghar, Kalo Baraf, Anur Pathsala, Nirapod Tandra and Chikkore Kabul.
He wrote a short story named Protidin Ekta Rumal.
His namaz-e-janaza was held on the Bangla Academy premises in the afternoon.
