Painting competition to generate awareness on forestation
Pabna Shishu Academy organised a painting competition for children to generate awareness on environment preservation and forestation. The competition was held at Pabna Shishu Academy premises last Monday.
Around 86 school-going children took part in the competition on the theme, "environment preservation and forestation programmes". "The competition has been organised to address environment issues. Through this competition the children will be encouraged to learn more on forestation programmes," Pabna Shshu Academy officer Md. Mokhlesur Rahman said.
As the chief guest, Pabna district Forest Officer Ajit Kumar Rudra distributed prizes among the participants. The prizes were somehow special for this type of competition. The participants were given saplings. In his speech the chief guest encouraged children to plant trees at their homes, as part of the environment preservation drive.
"Trees are the key elements that can avert environment pollution," the forest officer said as he was distributing the saplings among the participants.
Ajit Kumar also requested all to give saplings as prizes. District Shishu Academy Officer Md. Mokhlesur Rahman chaired the painting competition.
The prizes were given among 12 children in four sections at the competition. Sumi, Joy and Safin of 'Ka' section; Nishat, Amit and Zeba of 'Kha' section; Bindu, Ishan, Suti of 'Ga' section; and Chumki, Trisha and Partha of 'Gha' section received prizes at the competition. Painting teacher of Pabna Zilla School, Saidur Rahman and Alamgir Hafiz of Square Kindergarten were the judges at the competition.
