A unit of Ashuganj Power Station Company Ltd went remained out of order for two days as fire burnt a panel box of the unit on Tuesday.
According to the power station office sources, a fire originating from a short circuit of Unit-3 engulfed the panel box of the unit and burnt the cable including all vital ones.
As a result, the 150-megawatt power generating unit went out of order.
The engineers and technicians of the power station started repairing the damaged equipment and panel box of the unit. It will take three more days for them to repair.
When contacted, managing director of the power station said they are hopeful to resume the unit within three days.
