‘Cox's Bazar airport to be made int’l one’

The government is giving priority to turn the Cox's Bazar airport as international one for increasing tourism facilities in the country, Civil Aviation Minister Mohammad Faruk Khan said yesterday.
He was speaking at a function where the proposed structure of Cox's Bazar International Airport was displayed.
Faruk Khan said prime minister announced Cox's Bazar international airport as a priority project so that we should do our best to make this airport a regional hub that could attract the tourists from all over the world as the world's longest sea beach is situated here.
Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority Air Commodore (Retd) Zakiul Islam Mahmud presented the proposed structure of the new airport before the minister and other dignitaries including administration officials and local elites.
During the meeting, local people requested the minister to take caution while acquiring the land for new airport. The minister said politics and development go together, so the highest caution should be given to reduce property losses of the people during acquiring of land.
