Obituary

Prof Md Idris Ali, a noted writer and former teacher of Jahangir-nagar University, passed away due to a cardiac arrest at Labaid Cardiac Hospital in the city yesterday at the age of 70, says a press release.
He left behind his wife, three sons, two daughters and a host of admirers to mourn his death.
He will be buried after namaz-e-janaza at Khidirpur High School premises in Pabna.
His qulkhwani will be held on January 11.
Idris Ali is the father of Dr Ananya Raihan, executive director of D.net, a development research network.
He was a member of Communist Party of Bangladesh.
Communist Party of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Students Union, D.net, Kendrio Khelahgar Asar in separate messages expressed deep shock at his death and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
