Every winter, a 'pitha utshab' is held at SUST to preserve the tradition of rice cakes in the country.

A 'pitha utshab' was held at Arjuntala on the campus of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), Sylhet on December 27 at the initiative of Theatre SUST, a leading cultural organisation of the campus.
Every winter, a 'pitha utshab' is held here to preserve the tradition of making rice cakes in the country.
SUST students attended the 'utsab' with their variety of traditional pitha such as 'polli pitha', 'naksi pitha', 'pati sapta' 'dunat pitha' 'biscuit pitha' 'mera pitha' 'koli pitha' 'teler pitha' 'chitai pitha' 'bhapha pitha' and more.
