Madrasa girl abducted, schoolgirl rescued

Criminals abducted a teenage girl from Kadamtala village in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district on Tuesday evening while people on Monday night rescued an abducted schoolgirl from Boda upazila town in Panchagarh and handed over the abductor to police the next day.
Our Satkhira Correspondent reports: A teenage girl, who is a resident of Kadamtala village in Shyamnagar upazila and a class six student of Munshiganj Islambagh Dakhil Madrasa, went missing when she was returning home after fetching water from a tube-well at Kultali village at about 5:30pm on Tuesday, police quoted locals as saying.
The victim's father Abdul Aziz Gazi filed a case with Shyamnagar police station accusing Shahin Kha, 18, and Kamrul Islam, 24, of Kadamtala village, police said.
Police failed to rescue the victim or arrest the culprits as of filing this report.
Our Thakugaon Correspondent adds: Villagers on Tuesday afternoon rescued an abducted schoolgirl and handed over the abductor, Mokhlesur Rahman, 22, of Kholishakuri village under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila to police.
The 12-year-old girl was going to her private tutor's house on Monday afternoon when Mokhlesur took her on his motorbike and brought her to his relative's house in Boda upazila town in Panchagarh, locals said.
In the evening, the girl managed to make a phone call to her mother and said she was confined to a house at Boda Bazar.
As the mother told the matter to Balia Union Parishad member Toimur Rahman, he along with a companion went to Boda Bazar and found the girl at a house after searching for two and a half hours.
With the help of a few known people, Toimur rescued the girl, foiling abductor Mokhlesur's attempt to snatch the girl again. They brought the girl and the abductor to Balia Union Parishad Bhaban at around 1:00am.
As people interrogated and beat Mokhlesur in the morning, he disclosed his identity and address. He was handed over to Thakurgaon Police Station in the afternoon.
