As part of the ongoing Victory Day celebration programmes by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), dances, recitations, songs and film screening took place on December 18 (on the fifth day) at its premises. Organised by BSA, the event has been held at the Bjoy Mancha from December 14 and will continue till December 22.
The evening programme at the Bijoy Mancha started with recalling of the Liberation War by Sector Commanders. Every day, a sector commander recalls his role during the war before the audience. On the day, Commander of Sector Four, Major General C.R. Dutta Bir Uttam reflected on the war.
The cultural programme began through a solo dhol performance by Dasharath Das. Dancers of Shupta Bikash performed a group dance with the song "Ekti Bangladesh tumi jagrato janatar." Among other dance organisations, Katthak and Spandan performed group dance at the programme.
Noted recitors Mahidul Islam and Kazi Arif recited solo, while members of Swanan and Muktadhara performed group recitations. Singers Fahim Hossain Chowdhury, Auditi Mohsin, Khairul Anam Shakil, Biman Chandra Biswas and Salma Akbar rendered songs in the evening.
Artistes of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy took part in an instrumental performance. The evening was wrapped up through the screening of the film "Raktakto Bangla".
A fortnight-long workshop on the songs of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra began at the Training Room as well. Two Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artistes Ajit Roy and Shaheen Samad have been conducting the workshop.
Director General of BSA, Kamal Lohani inaugurated the workshop. M.A Mannan Hawladar, director of the Training department of BSA, Ajit Roy and Shaheen Samad spoke on the occasion.
