Man held with firearms, ammo in Gazipur

Rapid Action Battalion arrested a man and seized three foreign pistols, a shotgun and 68 bullets from his possession in Joydevpur upazila of Gazipur Monday night.
The arrestee is Shariful Islam, 35.
On information that criminals were attempting to commit subversive activities at Dakkhin Salna, Rab rushed to the spot, Rab-1 Commanding Officer Kismat Hayat told a press conference at its Dhaka headquarters yesterday.
Later, Shariful was held with one of the pistols there while his cohorts fled, he said.

Based on Shariful's information, the other firearms and bullets were seized from his residence, he added.
