Major (retd) Sinha murder: Pradeep sent to jail
A Cox's Bazar court today sent former Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Pradeep Kumar Das to jail on completion of his remand in a case filed over the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Pradeep was produced before the court today by Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) after completion of Pradeep's 15-day remand in total, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports.
Judge Tamanna Farah of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-4 in Cox's Bazar passed the order around 4:00pm today.
Pradeep was first taken on remand on August 6.
Earlier today around 12:15pm, the same court placed three accused on a three-day remand each in one of the cases filed over the murder case.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) prayed for four-day remand for each of the accused but the court granted three-day remand for each, said Rab's Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Khairul Islam.
The three accused -- Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Ayas Uddin -- were also mentioned as witnesses in two other cases filed by police in connection with the killing incident.
Before taking them to court, the three were taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital from jail for a health check-up around 11:00am.
On August 9, a Rab team arrested the three from Marishbunia village for their alleged involvement in Sinha's killing.
