After Padma Bridge was inaugurated today (June 25, 2022) by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, 11 teenagers from Gopalganj's Muksudpur upazila visited the long-cherished bridge by cycling 53km distance.

They are students of Diknagar High School in Muksudpur upazila, reports our Faridpur correspondent.

The teenagers left Maksudpur around 8am today for Padma Bridge and reached Jazira point around 2pm, said class 10 student Md Farhad Shaikh, who led the team, while talking to the correspondent.

By the time they reached Pachchar area, 8km before Padma Bridge, it started raining. But rain could not stop the boys. They continued to head towards the Padma Bridge.

Another member of the team, Hriday Mollah, said, "The day we heard that Padma bridge will be inaugurated on June 25, we decided that we will go to visit the bridge on the opening day."

Mahfuj Sheikh, another student, said, "There was no problem from the family when they heard we wanted to go visit Padma Bridge. However, there have been a few problems due to rain on the road."
