- Pakistan People’s Party chief ZA Bhutto arrives in Dhaka to meet Awami League chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bhutto is received by Awami League leaders Kamruzzaman, Tajuddin Ahmed and Zahiruddin. People’s Party activists and supporters greeted Bhutto with slogans at the airport. Bhutto visits the Central Shaheed Minar.
- Bhutto talked with reporters at the VIP lounge of Tejgaon airport. In response to what his opinion will be if Awami League are to implement the governance policy with landslide majority, Bhutto says he respects landslide majority. He says it is possible for a party of landslide majority to form and run a government in democracy, but in a federal state, unity is the essence of democracy while forming a governance policy. In reply to whether Bhutto had read the 6-point charter of demands from Awami League, Bhutto snaps back: “What do you think I don’t study my own house?”
- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and ZA Bhutto met at the Dhanmondi residence of Bangabandhu at a closed door meeting to discuss governance policies. The meeting began at 7:10pm and ended at 8:25pm East Pakistan. After the meeting, Bhutto tells waiting reporters that he is delighted to have met Sheikh Mujib and the two discussed on a lot of issues. Sheikh Mujib says: “We just began our talks and will continue.” Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Kamruzzaman and other Awami League leaders are waiting at another room during the meeting. Nazrul Islam entered the room for a brief moment before coming out again.
