Idol vandalised at Natore Hindu temple
Miscreants vandalised an idol of a Hindu Goddess at a temple in Natore town Sunday night.
The devotees found the idol broken when they went to perform puja at the temple in Foujdaripara area this morning, police and temple committee said.
Police arrested one Saiful Islam Sohag for his alleged involvement with the incident, reports our Natore correspondent quoting Aslam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Sohag, son of Abdul Khalek of Alaipur in the town, is an accused in a case filed for vandalising the same temple six months ago, the OC said.
Chittaranjan Saha, president of Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Oikyo Parishad of Natore unit, demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits.
