Liaison body after BNP's proposals
The liaison committee of Jatiya Oikya Prokriya would be formed after the BNP holds its rally on September 29, said AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury yesterday.
The president of Bikalpadhara Bangladesh said the committee would be formed after hearing what proposals BNP make at the rally regarding the Oikya Prokriya.
He was speaking to reporters after a meeting with Juktafront leaders at his Gulshan home last night.
BNP chairperson's advisor Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, Convener of Nagorik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury, chief of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal ASM Abdur Rob and General Secretary Abdul Maleq, and Member Secretary of the Jatiya Oikya Prokriya ABM Mastafa were present at the meeting.
Gono Forum chief Dr Kamal Hossain could not attend the meeting as he was sick.
“We are close to the Oikya [unity]. This process will continue,” Badruddoza said.
“The Oikya will be based on balance and this is not easy to achieve. There will be a lot of talks,” he added.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the prime minister's comment on the Oikya Prokriya.
About the inclusion of Jamaat in the Oikya Prokriya, Manna said the declaration of the Jatiya Oikya and Juktafront mentions that no enemy of freedom and the Liberation War would be included in the unity.
