Bangladesh capable of facing coronavirus outbreak: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday urged the country's people not to worry about coronavirus as Bangladesh has enough capability to face it.
"Inshallah, we have enough capability [to tackle coronavirus] and we'll do that. There's nothing to worry about," she said while inaugurating the function of the International Women's Day at Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
The government is monitoring the situation round the clock and will take immediate appropriate steps if any problem arises in any place, Hasina said.
"All have to remain neat and clean and follow the health ministry's instructions," she opined.
In this connection, the PM said the health ministry is issuing its instructions daily regarding the coronavirus. "I will request all to follow those instructions."
Hasina urged all to create awareness about the disease.
She added that due to coronavirus, countries across the globe are facing economic hardship.
The disease was first reported in China's Wuhan and now it has spread in more than 90 countries. It has infected more than 100,000 people and killed over 3,400 while half of the infected people have so far recovered.
