Former DCC ward councillor hacked
A former BNP backed ward councillor of Dhaka City Corporation and his aide were injured when a butcher attacked them with cleavers at Sipahibagh Bazar in the capital's Khilgaon area yesterday.
Fazlur Rahman, 56, with stab injuries, was admitted to Square Hospital, hospital sources said.
The attacker Akkas Kosai, 35, also injured in a mob beating, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station, said Akkas's shop was adjacent to Fazlur's office. They had an altercation around 1:00pm as Fazlur asked him to stop making noise.
Fazlur's aide Selim also sustained injuries while trying to save him.
However, Akkas said the former councillor's men beat his sister about two years back and he attacked him failing to get justice from him.
