Dhaka blanket factory fire doused

A fire that broke out at a blanket factory in Chakbazar area of Dhaka was doused an hour after its beginning this afternoon.
Eight firefighting units doused the blaze originated at the tin-shed one-storey Kazla Woolen Mills around 4:20pm, said Maj Mohammad Zihadul Islam, acting director general of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
No one was injured as the factory workers could manage to come out safely, the fire service official said.
The fire might have been originated from an electric-short circuit or an explosion of an electric bulb, said Waresat Hussain Belal, owner of the factory.
An official of the factory said that the fire gutted around 2.21 lakh blankets.
