Shamsur Rahman, Al Mahmud, Shaheed Quaderi translated in new Bangla Academy book

Bangla Academy has published a collection of poems by notable poets, Shamsur Rahman, Al Mahmud, and Shahid Qadri, titled, Three Poets.

Bangla poems by these prominent figures have been translated in English for this collection by some celebrated names in the Bangladeshi literary scene. Poet, translator, critic, academic, and recipient of the Bangla Academy Literary Award, Professor Kaiser Haq has translated several of Shahid Qadri and Shamsur Rahman's poems. Kabir Chowdhury and Zillur Rahman Siddiqui's translations of Shamsur Rahman's work are included in the book. Rifat Munim, writer, translator and former Literary Editor at The Daily Star and Dhaka Tribune, has translated seven poems by Al Mahmud.

M Harunur Rashid, the editor of this book and professor of English language and literature at Jahangirnagar University, has also translated select works of all three of the poets.

The edition comes with enlarged and bilingual texts.
